The Roads and Cultures website is part of the Hungary–Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme. The project aims to present a path presenting the cultural wealth of the Kiskunhalas and the North Bačka District, which includes 228 spots in the region exhibiting works of art, buldings that are part of cultural heritage, important places in the lives of prominent people, memorials of historical events, and some typical ethnographic phenomena of ethnic minorities living in this region.
Beside providing an archaeological guide through the region, the Culture Path also aims to present the spreading of baroque, historicism, eclecticism, art nouveau and modernism in this area. Through these periods special attention is given to ethnographic values in particular folk culture of ethnic groups living in this region.
The website aims to present the spots of this route in the North Bačka District; its main motif is the train, which has, during its over 130 years of existence, not only transported people, but also cultural novelties.
